The grandson of Imam Khomeini expressed hope that God would make this year as the year of friendship, compassion and elimination of estrangements.
Speaking at a ceremony on the occasion of the New Iranian Year on March 21 in the shrine of the founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeni, Hojatoleslam Seyyed Hassan Khomeini expressed congratulations on the occasion of New Year.
He voiced hope that the New Year would be a year of prosperity and blessing for all Muslims.
Referring to the prayer for the transition to the New Year, Khomeini explained that what the meaning of the best states was.
He also referred to the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) who said “I was chosen as prophet to complete and spread moralities among mankind”.
“God appointed thousands of prophets to establish ethics. The main message of the last prophet (Muhammad) was spread of moralities based on his teachings. Therefore, the best states for mankind are a state leading him towards fulfillment of moralities,” he elaborated.
Should each year take one step towards fulfillment of moralities and choose to live a moral life, the best states would be achieved, Khomeini stressed.
Referring to comments by ethicists, Khomeini said that man should be aware of what leads to his rescue or perish. “Man must know ethical vice would lead to his fall and ethical virtues would guide him toward enlightenment step by step.”
He said that each individual has had bitter and sweet days in his life, adding that the most important issue is that his behavior was based on moralities before God and his conscious.
Khomeini said that each person has acted in an immoral way in certain moments. For example, he told lie or felt jealous.
There have been many moments that an individual has acted based on moralities. For example, he helped the poor or wished for success of others.
“No one is so bad that be disappointed towards his future. No one is also so good that to become haughty towards blessing of God,” he explained.
“We must neither see our good sides to become haughty nor bad side to feel disappointed. We need the merciful God to eliminate bitter days of our life,” he noted.
Nobody knows a person better than himself, he said, adding, “It is good that a man pores over his good and bad days when he is alone to see whether his soul is changed as year is changing?” Khomeini argued.
Expressing respects towards Imam Khoemini, his wife and martyrs of the Islamic Revolution and the Sacred Defense (Iran-Iraq war), he expressed hope that God would bless each moments of this year with success and mercy and eliminate problems, passions and high prices thanks to prayers of the hidden Imam.
